Ground Loop Isolators

How they work!

first of all a slight understanding of  transformers will be useful so here goes ...

A transformer is a device which has 2 sets of copper coils each wrapped around an iron core. This creates an electromagnetic field around the core.

A Transformer has a different number of turns on the primary coil than the secondary coil which enables a change of voltage .... For Example: if the primary coil has 100 turns and the secondary coil has 200 turns, the voltage will be doubled and the current halved on the output of the secondary coil.

power caps

is a power cap needed? well in most cases yes.

they are not just for cosmetic uses but help a great deal if you have a powerfull install or not.

Amplifier Setup

Setting up your amp ....

First of all you should have a couple of knobs on your amp called HPF and LPF ... These stand for High Pass Filter and Low Pass Filter

A HPF will only allow the High frequency sound through ... Basically if you have speakers or tweeters and you want to cut out the bass (because it makes them distort)

A LPF will only allow the Low frequency sound through ... Basically if you are using it for a Subwoofer

And NORMAL will play everything.

Beginners Guide To Amp Installation

So ... you have your sub, amp and wiring kit ... heres a quick lo-down on what goes where.

The subwoofer goes in the boot (hopefully) nicely screwed into its MDF box ... If you bought the subwoofer and the box seperately you might need to connect the Terminal on the subwoofer box the the sub itself ... ALWAYS remember to connect RED to + and BLACK to -

Next, for easyness, screw the amp onto the subwoofer box somewhere, this is ideal because it keeps it secure and out the way.

MULTIPLE Sub Installation - Getting the correct Ohmage!

OK, this should help out with installing more than one sub.

SINGLE Sub Installation - Getting the correct Ohmage!

Hi Guys, Another chapter of the walkthrough guides!

This should help when wiring in a SINGLE sub to an amp. Follow the details perfectly to get optimum power and to avoid damaging the amp or sub.

Wiring Kit size help

Hi Guys,

I have put together a chart which should tell you what gauge wiring you will need for your systems.

Its pretty simple, on the left you need to select the wattage (including ALL of the amps your running) and then select the length of wiring at the bottom. Match the two together and you get the appropriate size of wire!
